NEW Photography Class for 8yrs+

Learn a new skill in Lockdown

Kids are bored, parents are busy. This is a weird time. We can make it a really positive one, for kids and parents. Most parents I know are trying to free up some child free time to work (or even just be 'off duty' for a little while…heaven forbid!) Wouldn't it be great if your kids could be busy being creative, enjoying learning photography - a new life skill -through ‘doing’ for the next 4 weeks, with little input needed from you? 😙👌 You are in the right place.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO START?

Not very much! This is a very practical learning, you don't need much, it's designed to work in the smallest of flats! Here is the list of the things you absolutely do need.

  • Phone, tablet or digital camera

  • To be 8 yrs +

  • Large Dollop of Energy

  • Pen & Paper

  • Time

Hey Parents!

(kids, you can skip this part!)

Thanks for getting this far! I've set this course up (in record time) to help you claw back some time into your days - to work or relax - and keep your kids busy, creative and connected to a community of kids of the same age.

This is the third enrolment, as the first two went so well (we have had over 450 Kids through the doors and I've gifted over £2000 worth of places to kids of NHS staff already).

My aim is to teach your kids photography in a super hands-on practical way, that will mean that the theory will be absorbed by the 'doing'.

We all learn in different ways so each module of  this course will include videos, presentations, a quiz and downloads. There are 4 modules, one per week

The main course is video based and will be delivered right here, and can be taken in your own time at your own pace over the next 4 weeks. There is also a PRIVATE Facebook Group that you can join for your child where we can share our work, I will give feedback on your child's photos and do LIVE Q&A's twice a week. This is our KIDS TAKEOVER community space.

The whole course is designed to fit in around your family schedule.

There are 4 weeks and each new week is released every Weds at 9am. There are 2 challenges per week and several videos.

The course will take a minimum of 2/3 hours per week, with most kids spending waaaay longer, (which I encourage)!

I know times are tricky and my aim for this course is to entertain and teach your kids, with easy to digest bite-sized modules that deliver some really big teaching. I'm hoping you can leave them to it, and get on with something else, or learn with them, whilst we explore our creativity together through the medium of photography.

What are parents saying?

“I signed one of my daughters up to do the photography course with Liz and, after seeing how much she was enjoying it, her two sisters asked if they could join in too. I’ve now got three budding photographers! They are seeing the world through different eyes and noticing colours, patterns and lighting of everyday things around them. Dog walks now have a whole new focus. So lovely to see them all so engaged. Highly highly recommend it.”

Helen

“My daughter and I are loving the course - thank you! It's amazing to see her get excited about something other than Snapchat and Instagram!”

Hannah

“This course is amazing. My kids have been so engaged and learnt so much. They are now seeing the world through a different lens, noticing colours, light, etc. The skills they have learnt will stay with them for ever. Highly recommend!”

Helen

“I was on wall-to-wall video calls and she came in at lunchtime with the biggest smile - she was SO proud of her photos. Thanks so much for giving us something so positive, interesting and educational to experience. 📸 Best way to keep them entertained 😊”

What a fab lockdown activity. Informative and fun: we have certainly learnt a lot. The videos are clearly presented and the children could easily do them on their own (although I have very much enjoyed learning a thing or two with my kids!) The activities are varied and enjoyable and we have all ended up with some fantastic images. It has definitely changed the way in which we use our phones to take photos - the resulting images are brilliant!
