WHAT DO YOU NEED TO START?

Not very much! This is a very practical learning, you don't need much, it's designed to work in the smallest of flats! Here is the list of the things you absolutely do need.

I know times are tricky. This 'hands-on' 4 week photography course will occupy and teach your kids the main concepts of photography, with easy to digest, fun step-by-step video modules that deliver some really big teaching and weekly CHALLENGES for them to complete. Your kids will get personalised feedback on their photos in our private Facebook Group from us - all pro photographers. 

PLUS each week we have two LIVE sessions with me (pro photographer for 20 years) where I review some of the kids work, answer questions and keep everyone on track and happy! 

I set up the PHOTO S'COOL during Lockdown because I know how important it is for kids to stay connected to a really positive community of kids of the same age (at this weird time) and how photography can be great for stress relief and wellbeing - the antidote to school work! I'm a mum of three myself.   

The whole course is designed to fit in around your family schedule and you will have access for as long as you need.

You should be able to leave them to it, and get on with something else, or learn with them, whilst we explore our creativity together through the medium of photography. 

It will take a minimum of 2/3 hours per week, with most kids spending waaaaaay longer (which I encourage!) and finding a new passion.

How much does it cost?

This course is super affordable, usual classes are £149! This is a per household cost, so as many siblings as live together!

What will we cover?

Week 1 

This week is all about FOCUS, DEPTH OF FIELD, COLOUR & CREATING PHOTO COLOUR GRIDS

Week 2

This week is all about LIGHT, SHADE, CREATING A BLACK & WHITE PROJECT and SELFIES EXPLORING THE LIGHT, as well as PRO EDITING. There is a very popular Competition this week, with awesome prizes.

Week 3

This week is all about COMPOSITION, FRAMING, NEGATIVE SPACE, SYMMETRY, PERSPECTIVE & CREATIVITY. THE CHALLENGE IS A SCAVENGER HUNT, AND CREATIVE SELFIE PHOTOS

Week 4

This week is all about STORYTELLING, EMOTION, NARRATIVE, STORYBOARDING

Each week there will be 3 teaching VIDEOS, and 2 CHALLENGES, and a QUIZ, so the learning is through the 'doing'. There will be LIVE Q&A's and feedback, twice every week.

What a fab lockdown activity. Informative and fun: we have certainly learnt a lot. The videos are clearly presented and the children could easily do them on their own (although I have very much enjoyed learning a thing or two with my kids!) The activities are varied and enjoyable and we have all ended up with some fantastic images. It has definitely changed the way in which we use our phones to take photos - the resulting images are brilliant!
